Merry Christmas

This year has been a challenge. Moving to Indiana, away from the homeland (Utah) has been rough for me. However, as a family we have so many things to be thankful for. Spencer works a lot, but we live comfortably, and enjoy the time we do spend together as a family. We have so many good friends, spread across the nation, and we are continually making more here in Indiana. We are all healthy, for which we are thankful. Arie keeps us on our toes, but also provides us with immeasurable joy! She is full of personality. The other day she told me I was driving too fast, and that I needed to turn the music down. A back seat driver at age 2, what will I do with her as a teenager! A few days ago we were in a hurry to get to the grocery store so we just went in our pajamas. Arie was sitting in the cart (a rare occassion), and about half way through the store she looked down at her legs and exclaimed, "Oh no, I'm in my jammie, jammies are for sleeping in!" It took me a minute to convince her that it was ok to be in the store in our jammies, at least just this once! She is truly a sweetheart. Spencer and I were getting ready to go to his firm holiday party, Spencer was in a tux and I had just put on my dress and finished getting ready when Arie came wandering into the room. She stopped for a second and looked at me and then she said, " Mommy you look so pretty, just like Cinderella." Talk about melt your heart! It is those moments that make it all worth while. I hope all is well, and have a Merry Christmas. Love, Spencer, Jeni, Arie and soon to be baby girl Viernes.
You know it can't be good when the weather man describes the temperature as FRIGID!
Welcome to Indiana!

Daddy I'll help you shovel the snow.
Arie, stop throwing the snow where I have already shoveled!

Arie loves to play in the snow, and she insisted that her baby come too. However, baby would need a jacket and a hat. Arie was very distraught that all the snow hats were to big on the baby because the baby wouldn't be able to see. Don't worry, mommy saved the day with a sock on the baby's head to keep her warm! Arie was so proud of her little snowman, and so sad when it "broke down" the next day. It must have melted in the sun, small, small, small!
